Private Martial Arts Lessons & 1-to-1 Coaching
Sometimes you want more than a busy class.
At Warrior Spirit Martial Arts we offer 1-to-1 and small private group coaching for children, teens and adults who want faster progress, flexible times, or a quieter, more focused environment.
We can work with you at our dedicated dojo in Llangefni, or we can come to you - schools, community groups, workplaces or family homes - across Anglesey and parts of North West Wales.
Options include:
- 1-to-1 karate or kickboxing
- Parent & child or family sessions
- Small private groups (friends / siblings / colleagues)
- Targeted coaching for gradings, confidence or competition
- Trauma- and mental-health informed sessions for those who need extra support
Ready to talk options?
Use the Contact Us form to let us know who the sessions are for and when you’re available to discuss your needs.
Why choose private coaching?
Private lessons aren’t just “smaller classes”. They’re built completely around you.
- Focused attention
Every minute is tailored to your goals, not a mixed group. This means faster feedback, quicker corrections, and more progress in less time. - Flexible scheduling
Daytime, evenings or weekends - we work around school runs, shifts and busy family life. - Perfect for nerves, anxiety or neurodiversity
If big groups feel overwhelming, private coaching offers a safer, calmer way to learn with instructors who are trauma and mental health informed. - Targeted goals
Work on a specific grading, kata, sparring, self-defence, fitness, weight loss, confidence or returning after injury. - High professional standards
All of our instructors are:
– Qualified martial arts coaches
– First Aid at Work trained
– Enhanced DBS checked
– Fully insured
Who we work with
Private sessions are ideal for:
- Adults who prefer 1-to-1 coaching instead of big classes
- Teens preparing for black belt or building confidence
- Children who need a gentler introduction before joining group classes
- Families who want to train together at the same time
- Small friendship groups who want a private class at a time that suits them
- Schools, youth groups and community organisations needing tailored sessions
Where we can teach
We can deliver private coaching:
- At our dedicated dojo in Llangefni
- At schools, colleges and universities
- At community centres and church halls
- At your workplace (e.g. staff wellbeing, team-building)
- In a family home, if there is enough safe, clear space
For off-site sessions we’ll talk through space, flooring and safety so that training is safe, practical and insurance-compliant.

What can we work on in private sessions?
Private coaching can be used for:
- Beginner foundations - learning basics at your own pace before joining a class
- Grading preparation - polishing kata, kumite and syllabus work for upcoming belts
- Competition coaching - kata, points fighting, continuous sparring, ring-craft and mindset
- Self-defence focus - practical scenarios, awareness and decision-making
- Confidence and resilience - building self-belief in a safe, encouraging environment
- Technical tune-ups - improving kicks, timing, distancing and movement
- Fitness and conditioning - tailored padwork and strength/cardio work
- Specialist needs - anxiety, neurodiversity, trauma-informed approaches
If you have a specific goal in mind, mention it in your enquiry and we’ll build your sessions around it.
Safety, safeguarding & professionalism
Because these sessions are more personal - and sometimes take place outside the dojo - we take safety and safeguarding very seriously.
- All coaches are First Aid at Work trained
- All coaches hold Enhanced DBS checks
- We are fully insured for 1-to-1 and off-site coaching
- For children’s sessions in homes, we require a parent or guardian present at all times
- We risk-assess new venues and can advise on mats, spacing and what’s realistic in the space you have
How to get started
You could structure this as bullet steps:
- Send us an enquiry
Tell us who the sessions are for, your goals, preferred times, and whether you’d like to train at the dojo or at your venue. - We’ll recommend a plan
We’ll suggest the best coach, frequency (e.g. weekly, fortnightly), and confirm pricing. - Book a trial session
Try a one-off session first. If it’s a good fit, we can create a block of lessons or a regular slot. - Review regularly
We’ll check in every few weeks to make sure the sessions are working for you and adjust if needed.
